UWAsia is one of the six Regional Platforms of GWI. It includes all the National Associations / Federations in the Asian region which are GWI members. The idea is to work together to create opportunities for the Asian women to reach decision making positions and to build understanding and friendship among members of other countries in the region.

UWAsia functions as an independent body with its own Constitution which falls within the GWI norms and objectives. It has its own Executive Committee with one member as the representative from each Asian NFA. The Committee is expected to meet once every year. The leadership along with the Headquarters shifts from one NFA to another, every three years. Currently the headquarters are in India (IFUWA).
